We’re featuring husband–wife duo, James Brown & Tonya Alexander-Brown, owners of Air Care Heating & Cooling, in Charlotte, NC. These two have a great story—and an incredibly interesting one. Best of all—it’s a success story. Air Care has grown from $1.1 million to $2.7 million over the last two years. It’s done so by completing two acquisitions—not just buying a customer list. James and Tonya merged their company with two others. Also of note, James and Tonya built their business in the early days utilizing home warranties. It provided them with immediate calls and a customer base. But they then explain how they turned their warranty business into a retail business. James and Tonya are a neat couple. As you will hear, they have made so many changes, especially over the last couple of years. Currently, they’re still settling into their brand-new office, and they have a vision of growing to $10 million sooner than later. And they’re going to make it happen—they’re bright, calculated, hardworking people with a clear vision for the future.
