Larry Shoemaker, owner of Deluxe Plumbing & Heating, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania came to SGI looking for answers in 2016. He had a seemingly strong business; it generated $4 million a year. And yet, even with that revenue, he wasn’t making much of a profit. In fact, as you will hear, employees were making more than he was. And Larry was working around the clock, tirelessly. Something had to change. Fast forward to today. Deluxe Plumbing & Heating makes more revenue—now $5 million a year. But more importantly, it’s far more profitable, even in a year where COVID hit the company hard. And Larry has his life back. He’s able to leave his business when he wants. And he knows it’s going to function—and function well—without him. And he’s hugely optimistic for the future.
