Utility companies and state regulators across the country are looking for ways to capture the sun’s power through solar panels.

In Wisconsin, state regulators are launching a statewide effort to explore how utilities can distribute more solar panels across Wisconsin to take advantage of that renewable energy source.

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission said its solar collaborative will study ways to accelerate the deployment of panels by utilities.

Further south, Tampa Electric recently entered a partnership to build one of the largest solar power plants in the nation in Central Florida. The plant will generate 25 megawatts of solar power, enough for more than 3,400 homes.

Florida Power & Light is already building the world’s first hybrid solar energy power plant in Florida.
